Meet our founder

Christopher Thomas, our lead principal, (better known as Chris) has delivered more than $50 billion in revenue, cost savings or equity value creation for clients and operating companies worldwide. Apprenticed at the top firms globally in finance, semiconductors, and strategies, he helps C-suite leaders on the most difficult of strategy and operational issues.

He has served more than 50 Fortune 500 companies, worked with dozens of the top global semiconductor companies, and has partnered with leaders headquartered across mainland China, Germany, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the United States. He has also led major P&L operations for Intel in both China and the United States.

Global Network
In addition to chairing the Company, Chris is an Advisory Board member of the Atlantic Council; a member of the Council on Foreign Relations; a Visiting Professor at Tsinghua University; and represents the United States in the US-China Track II Dialogues on the Digital Economy.
Recognitions
The State Council of the People’s Republic of China recognized Chris as a national-level foreign expert in Science and Technology. McKinsey awarded him its highest award for knowledge development, the Fred Gluck Award, and he earned the Intel Achievement Award, Intel’s highest honor.

Educational accomplishments

Chris received an MBA from Stanford Business School, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar; a Master of Arts in Political Science from Stanford University; and a Bachelor of Science in Economics, summa cum laude, from the Wharton School.

Career Highlights
Chris spent ten years as a partner with McKinsey & Company. He served as Managing Partner for McKinsey’s Asia Semiconductor Practice as well as Global Managing Partner for the Digital Strategy and IOT service lines.

He led hundreds of engagements on strategy, corporate finance, digital, sales and product development topics for global semiconductor and high-tech companies.

Chris established the “CEO Circle” which comprised more than 200 China heads of MNCs and CxOs of major Chinese companies.

Chris joined Intel after Stanford Business School upon the invitation of his professor, Intel Chairman Dr. Andy Grove.

Chris spent ten years at Intel in various executive roles. He was the General Manager of Intel China, with ownership for the region’s $5 billion-plus P&L. In this role, he grew revenues by more than 50% and oversaw China’s successful elevation from a sales unit to an independent regional P&L reporting directly into headquarters.

Chris also held multiple executive roles at Intel’s global headquarters. These included Chief of Staff to Intel’s Chief Sales, Marketing and Strategy Officer, where he advised on all key decisions for Intel’s 5,000-person global salesforce. He also led large engineering teams in the design and successful launch of three advanced optical networking semiconductors.

Chris joined Blackstone in one of its first “analyst classes.” He led all financial analysis for more than a dozen M&A, advisory and private equity transactions. Blackstone ranked him as the top analyst in his class throughout his tenure.
Brookings named Chris a Non-Resident Senior Fellow in both the “Artificial Intelligence & Emerging Technologies and “Foreign Policy” departments. He drives research efforts and publishes position papers on semiconductors, US-China relations and their impact on the global technology industry, and digital currencies.
Chris has been a visiting professor at Tsinghua University, China’s leading education institution, for more than ten years. He teaches Global Technology Strategy to International MBA students, who consistently evaluate him as one of the top professors at the School.
